About
Every web-presence should have an 'About' page and GayNorfolk-net is no exception.
And, of course, there's the obligatory more-or-less recent photograph...

After moving back to Norfolk County's ward of Simcoe in 1995, I created the website Life on Brian's Beat to pay homage to a friend in Ottawa — Woodstock, Ontario native Brian Wilson — who had died recently following a lengthy and courageous battle against AIDS. Even in the late stages of his 'war', Brian had the backbone to stand up and speak out concerning the shoddy, brutal, inhumane treatment of gay, lesbian and trans Canadians in general and of those living with hiv/AIDS in particular. Brian Wilson was a true rainbow warrior and remains an appropriate role model for any self-respecting gay, lesbian or trans person.
After a hiatus lasting several years (brought about by vicious, harassing personal assaults on a former ISP), the Life on Brian's Beat website has been restored to the internet as Life on Brian's Beat redux. Eventually the entirety of the original website will be available for your perusal and delectation. If this makes bigoted, self-serving christianists unhappy, well, they can just go and sit on a cactus, as my aunt would say.
I actually have three favourite quotations:
"Every country gets the circus it deserves. Spain gets bullfights. Italy gets the
Catholic Church. America gets Hollywood." — Erica Jong
and
"For better or worse, I've always tried to march to my own drum and tell it like it
is, while preserving some integrity and style. God, I'm fabulous!" — Michael Musto
and
"Flags are torn from the soul of the people." — Gilbert Baker, creator of our Rainbow Flag
This is a work-in-progress.
